Firm News | Simon Wilson Joins As Partner

FORMER BBC BUREAU CHIEF JOINS AXIS ADVISORS AS PARTNER

BRUSSELS — 2 November 2026 — Axis Advisors, the strategic public affairs firm, has announced that Simon Wilson, who served as BBC Bureau Chief in Brussels and Washington, alongside other senior roles, is joining as Partner and will lead the firm’s policy communications work.

Axis Advisors was launched earlier this year, and Wilson joins existing partners Sebastian Vos, Julia Harrison, Michelle B. O’Neill and Nikos Stathopoulos in the leadership team. The firm advises companies, investors, governments, European institutions and associations on high-stakes political, policy, regulatory and reputational issues.

Clients work directly with the firm’s partners, supported by a small team of analysts and amplified by Axis AI, developed in partnership with Spaak Technologies. Axis AI has been developed specifically for public affairs work and supports research, intelligence, early warning, scenario and stakeholder analysis, and the testing of strategies and messages.

Before joining Axis, Wilson worked as an international journalist and editor for BBC News for more than 30 years, including postings as Bureau Chief in Brussels, Washington and Jerusalem, and as Regional Director for both the BBC’s Russian and Ukrainian language services. Since leaving the BBC in 2023, he has taken on a series of senior editorial and management positions in leading international media organisations, including the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).

Sebastian Vos, CEO and Managing Partner of Axis Advisors, said:

“Simon brings exceptional international experience, sound judgement and a deep understanding of geopolitics, media and public opinion. His perspective will be invaluable to our clients as we continue to build Axis Advisors. We are very pleased to welcome him to the partnership.”

Simon Wilson, Partner at Axis Advisors, said:

“I am delighted to be joining Axis Advisors at this exciting and challenging time. Through my work as an international journalist, I have been privileged to have witnessed first-hand some of the defining events of this century and I look forward to bringing that experience to bear when advising our clients.”
